Artificial Intelligence or How the Terminator Started

It seems everyone is talking about artificial intelligence (AI) these days, but what does AI have to do with employment law? In this week’s Law Shanty episode, Warner attorney Steve Palazzolo discusses the two sets of recently released guidance for employers from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This guidance is focused on preventing an employer’s use of software, algorithms or AI tools from causing inadvertent discrimination against job applicants and employees under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Steve also discusses an employer’s responsibilities when using AI tools and how employers can prevent issues by evaluating their use of these tools.
