Rodney D. Martin has counseled financial institutions for over 25 years on banking and consumer compliance issues. He regularly advises clients regarding bank regulatory issues involving mergers, acquisitions, and the expansion of banking activities, as well as fair lending, financial privacy, Bank Secrecy Act, and other compliance matters. He is Chair of the Firm's Financial Services Group and Co-chair of the Firm's Privacy and Information Security Task Force. In addition, he is the Firm's Diversity Partner.

Representative Experience
- Represented bank in landmark settlement of lawsuit by the United States Department of Justice alleging redlining in violation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Housing Act
- Represented numerous banks before federal bank regulatory agencies against claims of lending discrimination resulting in conclusion that no discriminatory practices had occurred and no referral to the Department of Justice was necessary
- Represented clients in responding to information security breaches involving consumers in multiple states
- Represented company in Sarbanes Oxley Whistle-blower investigation by the Department of Labor resulting in a dismissal of the complaint
- Represented the Michigan Bankers Association in connection with its consumer forms program
- Conducted investigation of complicated embezzlement scheme by senior bank officer resulting in successful criminal prosecution
