Biography

Dennis Loughlin’s practice falls into two different areas: a broad-based creditors’ rights practice built upon extensive experience counseling secured and unsecured creditors in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings/collections/commercial disputes; and second, a general corporate practice advising his client base on a broad range of business issues. Regardless of what area of his practice his clients fall into, Dennis is a problem solver and is respected for his direct and practical approach.

In his creditors’ rights and insolvency practice, his repertoire includes advising clients on all types of restructuring and insolvency issues, receiverships, loan workouts as well as having particular expertise with these issues as they relate to Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS). With a proficiency in the Michigan Special Tool Lien Act and the Michigan Moldbuilder’s Lien Act, Dennis represents parties in disputes under these Acts in both bankruptcy and state courts and lectures to numerous state groups regarding these Acts.

Aside from his creditors’ rights and insolvency practice, Dennis also serves as general counsel for corporate entities in the auto supply, information technology and craft brewery industries. Clients favor working with Dennis because of his knowledge, sound intuition and good business sense.
