Stephen Grow's practice is concentrated in workouts, bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He has represented both secured lenders and borrowers in out-of-court workouts, and trustees, debtors, creditors committees, secured lenders and other parties in complex bankruptcy cases. Stephen has counseled clients in bankruptcy cases pending throughout the United States. Stephen is the former chair of the Firm's Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group.

  • Michigan counsel for UBS AG and Merrill Lynch Capital Services in In re the City of Detroit, counterparties to certain swap and credit agreements with the City of Detroit
  • Lead counsel to the Chapter 11 Trustee In Re Outdoor Resources, Inc., resulting in the sale of substantially all assets of several affiliated debtors under a confirmed plan of reorganization
  • Lead Debtor's counsel in In Re Hastings Manufacturing, Inc., resulting in a 363 sale of substantially all assets of the Debtor
  • Local counsel to the Debtor in In Re Aurora Oil & Gas Corporation and Hudson Pipeline & Processing Company, successfully confirming a plan to restructure $120 Million in secured debt
  • Local counsel to the second lien lenders in BHM Technologies Holdings, Inc., who were owed in excess of $72 Million
  • Special insurance counsel in In Re Gainey Corporation, Inc.
  • National bankruptcy counsel for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, managing bankruptcy cases throughout the United States
  • Represented automotive suppliers in virtually every major automotive bankruptcy case in the United States
  • Represented secured creditors, including banks and other financial institutions, in foreclosures, receiverships, and out-of-court workouts
