James Liggins Jr. focuses his practice on construction litigation, property disputes, real estate concerns, as well as business contractual disputes, criminal defense and emergency manager matters. In addition to practicing law, James has become a valuable resource to the Kalamazoo community. His desire to be active in social awareness, community services and extracurricular activities that give back to the people and places he’s passionate about – fuel James’ passion to meld his profession and his community contributions into one. James serves on the board of the Harold and Grace Upjohn Foundation and of the Bronson Healthcare Group, and continues in leadership on the board of directors for the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region. James was also the chair for the Douglas Community Association in 2013 and is the current chair of Kalamazoo’s indigent defense organization Kalamazoo Defender.
