John Inhulsen provides legal counsel to businesses and individuals for a broad spectrum of litigation and commercial matters. He maintains a diverse commercial litigation practice, representing clients in both state and federal courts. Successful at achieving excellent client results, John is consistently recognized for this work by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. Among his many successes, he obtained one of the largest awards in Michigan in 2013, a $5.15 million unanimous jury verdict for an antitrust lawsuit against an international manufacturing conglomerate.
John also advises closely held companies with respect to legal and business issues, fulfilling the general counsel needs for clients who do not have inside counsel. As a founding member of a closely held company, he understands the daily issues that growth-stage companies face, and the value of strategic legal expertise to efficiently and effectively manage those issues. As outside general counsel – he serves as a clearinghouse for his clients’ legal needs by leveraging his professional resources to obtain the best solutions for clients.
John was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to serve as a member of its adjudicative arm, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board. A devoted community leader, he sits on numerous leadership committees of nonprofit organizations. John believes, “Communities don’t just happen – it takes people and businesses contributing their time and resources to create and sustain the opportunities we have in Grand Rapids. I’m proud to be part of that process.”
