Here are several examples of our experience in international matters:

  • Advised public U.S. company acquiring global medical technology and manufacturing and distribution business in Tokyo, Japan
  • Established subsidiaries in China, India, Hong Kong and Vietnam for numerous Michigan companies
  • Advised Michigan companies entering the U.K. and French markets to sell medical devices
  • Successful defense of a $1 billion claim against a Bermuda corporation
  • Created, maintain and update a standard distribution agreement for a public company client that sells goods in more than 180 countries
  • Negotiated successful resolutions for Japanese companies enmeshed in disputes related to a most-favored-customer clause and termination of a license agreement with U.S. companies
  • Achieved favorable settlement concerning Canadian company's breach of distribution agreement in matter before the AAA's International Centre for Dispute Resolution
  • Negotiated access agreement with insolvent Canadian equipment manufacturer designed to avert what would have been a disastrous delay in the delivery of custom robotic equipment
  • Represented a European company engaged in a dispute with its former Southeast Asian distributor in the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration in Paris, France
  • Successfully settled multimillion-dollar suit arising out of a Chinese joint venture
  • Favorably settled contract dispute with German supplier while incurring minimal expense in a facilitated mediation
  • Negotiated with English company that had sold fuel pump manufacturing business to client for substantial financial contribution to post-sale product recall costs
  • Recovered million-dollar judgment in International Chamber of Commerce arbitration arising out of acquisition of French corporation
  • Achieved favorable mediated settlement concerning sale of business to French company in matter before the AAA's International Centre for Dispute Resolution
  • Successfully settled terminated Japanese distributor's multimillion-dollar dispute
  • Secured judgment, with local assistance, from Saudi Arabian tribunal of Imams on behalf of U.S. international client involving termination of distributor agreement
  • Representing German-owned U.S. company in arbitration with a Canadian company that began with a forum fight between a Canadian court and two U.S. courts
  • Reached favorable settlement of a $750 million supply contract dispute between German and Japanese corporations
