Warner’s IP group is largest in West Michigan

The addition of two patent attorneys means Warner Norcross & Judd LLP now has the largest IP Practice Group in West Michigan.

Warner has 14 IP attorneys and six litigators who work in the IP field, says Practice Group Chair Charles Burpee. Of the 20 attorneys in the group, a full dozen of them are patent attorneys.

“A large team means more resources and a wider variety of technical backgrounds,” Burpee says. While Warner already was well-known for its work in technology and intellectual property law, the addition of Catherine Collins and Matthew Goska earlier this year further expanded the firm’s expertise in the areas of medical devices and Internet-related technologies.

“In the last several years, we have grown substantially in both size and number of clients,” Burpee says. “The growth is reflective of the quality of our work, our dedication to excellent client service, and the value that we deliver to clients.”

Warner also has made gains in the IP area because we’re a full-service firm that can address non-IP issues for our clients, including tax and administrative law issues. That’s something boutique IP firms can’t offer.
