Warner Partner Ford J.H. Turrell Honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Ford J.H. Turrell, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of its “Up and Coming Lawyers” for 2021.

Turrell is recognized in the annual edition that acknowledges the best of Michigan’s up-and-coming attorneys. To be selected for the honor, Michigan Lawyers Weekly looks for lawyers who, in their first 10 or fewer years of practice, have established a name for themselves by displaying the ambition, drive and accomplishments that set them apart from their peers. Along with 24 others, Turrell will be honored during a virtual celebration in June.

His nomination read in part: “Ford’s pragmatic approach to writing, commenting and protecting client interests makes him a crucial member to the firm, while his responsive and approachable nature makes him an invaluable asset to clients. Out of the firm’s 230 attorneys, Ford was selected as one of the six members of Warner’s COVID-19 Response Team, which addresses concerns from businesses and clients working to navigate the state and federal requirements, legislation, stay-at-home orders, Paycheck Protection Program loans and other issues that have arisen during the pandemic. Over the past year, he has contributed to 30 Warner publications addressing PPP loans, Small Business Administration topics and additional financial relief opportunities for small businesses, among others.”

Turrell concentrates his practice on transactional counseling for the real estate and corporate sectors. Based in Warner’s Grand Rapids office, his experience spans across a variety of industries, including agriculture, commercial office and retail leases, distributors, manufacturing, oil and gas, real estate development, retail and restaurants.

He serves on the events committee for the Hospice of Michigan Foundation and recently completed his term on the Embody board of directors.

Turrell is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association. He served as a term law clerk to the Hon. David W. McKeague of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Sixth Circuit.
