Warner Norcross partner Shane Hansen talks with Crain’s on H.R. 2274

In a Crain’s Detroit Business feature, Warner partner Shane Hansen discussed “The Small Business Mergers, Acquisitions, Sales and Brokerage Simplification Act of 2013.”

Hansen, who testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Capital Markets subcommittee, has been a proponent of the bill that calls for streamlined registration requirements for the licensure of brokering deals.

With an estimated $10 trillion worth of privately owned business expected to be sold or closed as the baby boomer generation continues to retire, Hansen told Crain’s that the bill would "bring clarity, simplify the process and reduce the cost" of private M&A activity.
