Richard E. Cassard, a partner at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, has accepted an appointment to teach at his alma mater, the University of Michigan Law School.
Beginning this fall, Cassard will serve as an adjunct professor at the law school, where he will teach an upper-level course on land-use planning and control. He will divide his time between Ann Arbor and the Firm, where he will continue to practice real estate, corporate and health law.
Cassard joins several other Warner Norcross partners who teach on an adjunct basis at a variety of universities, including Notre Dame, Michigan State University and Grand Valley State University.

Active in the community, Cassard is a member of the Aquinas/Circle/CSS Steering Committee for the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center and past president of Community Circle Theatre and the Project Rehab West Michigan board. He is a graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids.
He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan with high distinction. Cassard received his doctor of jurisprudence, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was senior editor of Michigan Law Review and Order of the Coif.
