Two Warner Norcross Partners Serve on Inforum Advisory Board

Two partners of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP will serve on the advisory board of Inforum-West Michigan, a new professional organization for women.

Melissa N. Collar and Kathleen M. Hanenburg actively participated in establishing a Grand Rapids affiliate of the organization, which is based in Detroit. Collar also chairs the communications committee and Hanenburg serves on the program committee.

Inforum is designed to strengthen the local business environment by providing opportunities for a diverse group of business and professional women to connect with one another, forge personal and professional alliances, discuss vital business issues, and advance as leaders. The organization started more than four decades ago in Detroit and now has more than 2,000 members in Detroit and Lansing. The West Michigan affiliate has a membership goal of 500.

Collar concentrates her practice in real estate and construction law, and writes and lectures frequently on related topics. She is coauthor of a chapter in Michigan Real Property Law and of several chapters in The Practitioner's Guide to Construction Law.

Active both professionally and within the community, she is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association and Commercial Real Estate Women. She is a past chair of the Better Business Bureau and still serves on its board of directors. She is a former board member of Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Ottawa County and the Women's Resource Center.

Collar holds a bachelor of arts with distinction from the University of Michigan and a juris doctor degree cum laude from Wayne State University Law School, where she was Order of the Coif.

Hanenburg concentrates her practice on immigration law and is a frequent lecturer on I-9 compliance. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. She is a past vice chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Hanenburg holds a bachelor of science degree from Calvin College and earned her juris doctor degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was Order of the Coif.
