Sara A. Nicholson Joins Warner

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP today welcomed Sara A. Nicholson as senior counsel in its Kalamazoo office.

Nicholson concentrates her practice in trusts and estates and engages in tax-efficient wealth transfers, asset protection, succession planning, and probate avoidance. She represents individuals, families and organizations, regularly drafting wills, powers of attorney, and trusts. She also works with clients on planning with retirement benefits, estate and trust administration after a death, managing and transferring ownership of family cottages, and related areas.
 
Prior to joining Warner, Nicholson was an attorney with Miller Johnson in Kalamazoo.
 
Nicholson is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Kalamazoo County Bar Association. She writes and presents regularly on tax and estate planning and related topics for organizations and community groups, along with The Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
 
Active in the community, Nicholson serves on the board of the YWCA of Kalamazoo and on its Planned Giving and Bylaws committees. She volunteers with the Kalamazoo Probate Clinic and the First Congregational Church in Kalamazoo.
 
Nicholson holds a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Kalamazoo College, a doctor of jurisprudence cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and a master of laws in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
 
Nicholson resides in Kalamazoo with her husband, Rob, a Kalamazoo native, and their children, Cora, Hal and Ceci.
