Alex DeYonker Appointed to Serve on Regional Issues Council

Warner Norcross & Judd LLP announced today that Alex DeYonker has been appointed to serve on the Regional Issues Council for the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.

DeYonker, who is managing partner of the Firm, will serve on the Council, which is one of the Chamber's main "issue committees." The Regional Issues Council is committed to ensuring that the voice of West Michigan business is represented in local and regional public-policy decisions.

DeYonker is active in civic and community affairs, serving as campaign cochairperson of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, a board member of The Right Place Program, a trustee of Aquinas College and a member of the Interurban Transit Partnership Major Corridor Task Force. He is a member of Leadership Grand Rapids and a past chairperson of its board of directors, in addition to serving as a recent chairperson for the Kent County Unit of the American Cancer Society's board of directors.

DeYonker concentrates his practice in corporate law, securities and mergers and acquisitions. DeYonker has served as the chairperson of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and cochairperson of the section's State Regulation of Securities Committee. In addition, he has served as an adjunct professor at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. DeYonker is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.

DeYonker received a bachelor of science degree, with high honors, from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He earned his doctor of jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University in Detroit. In 1975, DeYonker was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan.
