Alan Rogalski Discusses Medical Marihuana in Crain's Detroit Business

In an article in this week’s Crain’s Detroit Business, Alan T. Rogalski discussed Michigan's growing marihuana industry in an article titled, "Pot Goes Pro: Marijuana Business Pulls in People who See Big Opportunity."

Rogalski, a Warner Norcross + Judd partner who is also a licensed clinical pharmacist, suggested that the industry is ramping up slower than expected due to the complex regulatory framework.
"People who own the land, get municipal approval to build the facility; those are the guys getting paid regardless of whether the seeds sprout. All that makes money with little to no risk.  It's a calculated industry right now," Rogalski said.
With Michigan's marihuana industry expected to generate nearly $700 million in revenue in 2018, the article suggested more "professional" businesses will rush for their share.
"The first ones to the playing field will control the playing field. There is going to be a stampede, because we [Michigan] have such a huge number of medical users. The money is going to talk," Rogalski said.
Rogalski is co-chair of Warner's Life Sciences Practice Group and has 25 years of  experience counseling physicians, hospitals, physician groups and other health care providers. He and his team have been closely following developments in Michigan's medical marihuana industry.
