MSC Oral Argument: In re Servaas

In oral argument today, several Michigan Supreme Court Justices took issue with the Judicial Tenure Commission's investigation into whether Judge Steven Servaas, a District Court Judge in Rockford, Michigan, should be disqualified based on alleged inappropriate conduct toward female staff members and the Judge's decision to move his home out of his electoral district. The Justices had tough questions for Paul Fischer, Director of the Commission, involving the methods he used to investigate and prosecute the case. This Blog's summary of the oral argument issues can be found here. Reports from the AP and The Grand Rapids Press can be found here and here.
