Two Warner Norcross & Judd LLP partners have been named chairpersons of two Firm committees.
Jeffrey A. Ott, who concentrates his practice in securities and business law, with an emphasis on financial institutions, will chair the 13-member Recruiting Committee. The Recruiting Committee conducts on-campus interviews at law schools around the country to find the best law students for summer associate positions at the Firm. Successful summer associates receive offers to join Warner Norcross full time after graduation.
In 2008, Warner Norcross received more than 2,000 applications for 25 summer associate positions. In 2007, the Firm, which is the largest in West Michigan, hired 26 new attorneys and opened a new office to accommodate growth. Warner Norcross has more than 200 attorneys in six offices across the state.
Mark J. Wassink, who concentrates his practice in commercial finance and business law, will serve as chair of the Professional Staff Committee. The 14-member committee handles all human resource issues for the Firm's 92 associates and paralegals, including annual reviews, policy development and implementation, training and professional development.
"We are very pleased that Jeff and Mark have agreed to accept leadership roles for two of the Firm’s key committees," said Douglas E. Wagner, managing partner. "Our Recruiting and Pro-Staff committees play critical roles in securing the growth and future vitality of the firm. Both Jeff and Mark have been among our leading recruiters and mentors and will do well with their new responsibilities."
