Nicole L. Mazzocco joined Warner Norcross & Judd LLP in the fall of 2008 upon graduation from the University of Minnesota Law School. Nicole is a member of the Firm's Appellate and Litigation Practice Groups, specializing in appellate and commercial litigation. Nicole practices before both state and federal courts. She also regularly contributes to the One Court of Justice Blog, www.ocjblog.com, the first and only blog to provide comprehensive coverage and in-depth analysis of Michigan's appellate courts and all their published decisions.

  • Successfully represented City of Bay City in appeal regarding municipal rights under Michigan’s tax-foreclosure scheme.  City of Bay City v. Bay County Treasurer, No. 294556 (Mich. Ct. App. 2011)
  • Worked as part of successful WNJ trial and appellate team representing foundry against its former customer. Kurdziel Industries, Inc. v. JLG Industries, Inc., No. 295289 (Mich. Ct. App. 2011)
  • Represented the Michigan Bankers Association, the Michigan Credit Union League, the Michigan Association of Community Banks, the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association, and the Michigan Mortgage Professionals Association as amici curiae in Tus v. Hurt, No. 139769 (Mich. 2010)
  • Worked as part of WNJ team that convinced the District of Columbia Court of Appeals to reverse the trial court’s decision, which had ended Mr. Patchak’s lawsuit on standing and sovereign-immunity grounds. Patchak v. Salazar, No. 09-5324 (D.C. Cir. 2011)
  • Represented bankruptcy trustee in successful appeal regarding appropriate trustee compensation in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Pilch v. Bareham, No. 08-2066 (6th Cir. 2009)
  • Worked as part of a WNJ team that persuaded the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to reject argument that mandatory arbitration agreement was unconscionable and unenforceable, resulting in a $25 million arbitration award for client. Quixtar, Inc. v. Brady, No. 08-2629 (6th Cir. 2009)
