Michael is a Partner in the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring Practice Group where he practices in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy, specializing in creditors' rights. Michael regularly represents financial institutions, secured parties, lessors, bankruptcy trustees, creditors' committees and debtors in all facets of bankruptcy, litigation and the collection of loans. Michael regularly appears in all state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court.

Representative Experience

  • Assisted numerous banks and financial institutions in loan restructurings, loan workouts
  • Represented financial institutions and other secured parties in actions to foreclose and repossess collateral
  • Represented creditors in numerous Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies in courts across the country
  • Prepared and negotiated loan documents, including loan agreements, promissory notes, guarantees and security agreements
  • Prosecuted and defended hundreds of fraudulent transfers and preference actions in bankruptcy courts across the country
  • Successfully represented bankruptcy trustee in an appeal to the Sixth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel involving application of the Builder's Trust Fund Act
  • Represented businesses in commercial disputes in state and federal court
  • Prosecuted and defended numerous construction lien foreclosure cases
