For the past 11 years, Ed has represented mid- to large-size corporations, as well as individuals in employment, commercial, and product liability litigation. He has counseled clients in employment matters involving non-competition agreements, sexual harassment as well as race and disability discrimination claims and has successfully represented large utility companies, manufactures and universities. Ed has also successfully tried cases involving trade secrets and idea misappropriation, most notably he served as co-counsel on the Taco Bell Chihuahua case which resulted in a favorable $30 million jury verdict.

  • Co-counsel for Wrench, Inc. obtaining multimillion dollar jury verdict against Taco Bell in suit arising out of the popular Chihuahua advertising campaign
  • Co-counsel for the Archdiocese of Grand Rapids in multimillion dollar personal injury case. Obtained summary disposition which was upheld on appeal
  • Co-counsel for Fifth Third Bank obtaining summary judgment as plaintiff in trade secret case
  • Defended and prosecuted cases for client involving minority shareholder rights in corporations and membership interests in limited liability companies
  • Successfully defended First of Michigan Corp. and registered representative in NASD arbitration alleging suitability, fraud and churning
  • Represent large and small manufacturers regarding sales and warranty issues
  • Successfully defended several other broker-dealers and registered representatives in NASD arbitration proceedings
  • Successfully prosecuted a claim for Maximum Financial Group, Inc. recovering over $250,000 against a former customer in an NASD arbitration
  • Co-counsel for Fuel Systems LLC involving litigation over retiree benefits
  • Counsel for Eagle Ottawa Leather Co. successfully defending against several employment discrimination matters
  • Successfully prosecuted a claim for Maximum Financial Group, Inc. recovering over $250,000 against a former customer in an NASD arbitration
  • Successfully prosecuted other claims for claimants in NASD arbitration proceedings
