Biography

Bill Lentine is a business attorney with substantial tax and trust and estate experience, who assists both individuals and businesses prepare for today and tomorrow while navigating technical tax issues along the way. Within his trust and estate practice, Bill provides clients with a sense of relief in seeing their intentions carried out. He also helps businesses secure their legacy through succession planning, exit strategy, management planning and tax strategy to maximize potential gains and minimize tax expenses. Part of his unique practice, Bill provides representation for financial and lending institutions regarding 1099 and W2 information return penalties. Clients respect Bill for his honest and direct approach, and note his resourcefulness when helping them plan for their future. An eye for detail, Bill is as fact-driven as possible when drafting agreements and plans so nothing is left to interpretation, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.   • Lead attorney in a shareholder redemption transaction leading to a buyout of fellow shareholders for an industrial services company
  • Lead attorney with structuring Michigan corporation acquisition by foreign private equity group
  • Experience in Tax Incentive real estate transactions including for New Markets, Historic Tax Credit
  • Experience in advising on tax benefits for Opportunity Zone Funds and investments
  • Structured pooled investment funds in cannabis related ventures and other industries
  • Substantial partnership tax experience through LLCs or general and limited partnerships for acquisitions, real estate ventures and industrial joint ventures
