Dan DeWitt specializes in a wide range of environmental matters, with a special emphasis on hazardous waste regulatory issues, climate change and environmental compliance auditing. Dan currently leads the Firm's Sustainability and Climate Group.

Representative Experience

  • Represents major wind farm developer in Michigan assisting with developing its plan to grow a sustainable community with renewable energy
  • Regularly assists auto manufacturers, chemical companies and other major manufacturers that are conducting environmental compliance audits. Has conducted numerous environmental audits in Michigan and nationwide
  • Counsels clients on climate-related issues, including emission reduction, greenhouse gas reporting and renewable energy credit trading
  • Regularly conducts environmental due diligence for major commercial transactions
  • Currently assists chemical, pharmaceutical and manufacturing operations conducting RCRA corrective actions
  • Represents a client at one of the largest contamination cleanup sites in the country
  • Regularly counsels major chemical, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies on hazardous waste issues
  • Worked on team that successfully defended a major pharmaceutical company at one of the nation's largest Superfund sites
