Warner Partner Offers Counsel on Securities Law Compliance to Inventors, Start-Ups


Warner Norcross partner Matt Johnson will lead a session on securities law compliance Tuesday, March 13, for the Grand Rapids Inventors Network.  Johnson tells The Grand Rapids Business Journal said that "even folks on Main Street" need to understand the rules when they add new investors or seek capital injections in new or second-stage businesses.  "The definition of what is a security and therefore what is a securities offering is often much broader than what people think," Johnson explained to the GRBJ reporter.  He noted that a few minutes working with the right attorney can "help ensure the initial offerings in a new company meet federal and state exemptions for security offerings."  To read the full article, click here.
