Warner Partner Michael Cruse Succumbs to Pancreatic Cancer

8/6/2012

Our partner Mike Cruse passed away on Aug. 3, 2012, after a long and courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.

Mike was a tremendous colleague with a positive, can-do attitude that his clients and partners valued. After his diagnosis, Mike kept a blog http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaelcruse to share his journey with us and with others who were afflicted with pancreatic cancer. In the process he became forever our hero.

Throughout his illness, Mike remained optimistic and encouraged us all to "embrace the day." He devoted the end of his life to helping others with the disease and, along with his wife, Jane, established the Embrace the Day Foundation to fund research into pancreatic cancer. Mike also volunteered as a subject in a variety of drug therapy studies so his doctors could learn better how to treat others.

Mike was strong, brave, honest and caring, traits we are reminded to emulate. Mike's Warner family mourns his passing. His memory is a blessing to all of us. We extend our condolences to Jane and his two wonderful children, Aaron and Natalie, who have been a source of strength and comfort to him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the  Embrace the Day Foundation, 756 Loggers Circle, Rochester, MI 48307.
