Warner’s Vernon P. Saper Elected to Grand Rapids Downtown Alliance Board

Vernon P. Saper, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, has been elected to the Grand Rapids Downtown Alliance Board of Directors.

The Grand Rapids Downtown Alliance consists of representatives from downtown businesses, schools, professional firms, non-profits and governmental units. Its purpose is to provide for the maintenance and beautification of the downtown area for the benefit of businesses in Grand Rapids. It focuses on new and emerging events, particularly ones that strengthen the arts, entertainment, hospitality and retail sectors of downtown. Saper is one of 25 board members and will serve a two-year term.

Saper concentrates his practice in employee benefits law, particularly in the area of employee stock ownership plans, or ESOPs. He has extensive experience in the design and preparation of ESOPs and ESOP transactions of all kinds.

He is a member of the ESOP Association of America, the National Center for Employee Ownership, a co-founder of the West Michigan Pension Conference and has held several board positions with Goodwill Industries of Grand Rapids and its foundation, including his current position as director emeritus. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for 25 years and Michigan Super Lawyers.
