Peter Kulas-Dominguez Appointed to Two State Bar of Michigan Posts

Peter M. Kulas-Dominguez, an attorney with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been elected to the chair-elect of the State Bar of Michigan Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Questioning-Allies Section and has accepted a position as the co-chair of the Court Rules Committee for the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section.

In his first appointment, Kulas-Dominguez will work with others in the LGBTQA section to review law, cases, regulations and other legal matters that affect LGBTQA individuals in the state and promote the fair and just administration of those laws. As the co-chair of the Court Rules Committee for the Family Law Section, he will work to review proposed changes to Michigan Court Rules that impact family law matters and recommend a position for the Family Law Section to take regarding the proposed rule change.

Kulas-Dominguez concentrates his practice on family law litigation, including divorce, LGBT family issues, domestic relations mediation, spousal support, child custody and support, abuse and neglect matters, complex business valuations, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and adoptions.

He was recently one of three individuals selected for the 3 in 10 Award by the Grand Rapids Bar Association and was named to the Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star list.

Kulas-Dominguez has done pro bono work for several regional organizations, including assisting victims of domestic violence with legal counsel at the YWCA West Central Michigan and assisting with community relation events for McKenzie’s Animal Shelter. He also serves on the board for the Humane Society of West Michigan.
