John J. Bursch Appointed to Hispanic Center Board

John J. Bursch, a partner with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan.
Bursch, who chairs the Firm's Appellate Practice Group, will serve a three-year term on the board. The Hispanic Center is a nonprofit organization serving the needs of the Hispanic and broader community through a variety of programs and services. The center is currently completing a capital campaign to fund the refurbishment of its facility in Southwest Grand Rapids.
Bursch concentrates his practice in appellate and business litigation. Prior to joining Warner Norcross, he served as a law clerk for the Hon. James B. Loken, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit.
Active both professionally and within the community, Bursch serves on the Appellate Practice Section Council of the Michigan Bar Association and as the publications chair for the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers.
Bursch is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the National Association of Diocesan Attorneys. He speaks and writes widely on legal issues. He is also a past board member of the Hugh Michael Beahan Foundation and a past chair of the St. John Vianney Worship Commission.
Bursch holds two bachelor's degrees from the Lee Honors College of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and served as executive editor for the Minnesota Law Review.
