In addition to interviewing on several law school campuses each year, we also interview at the Midwest Region of the Black Law Students Association Job Fair, held in Rosemont, Illinois and the Cook County Minority Job Fair in Chicago. We also regularly attend the Loyola Patent Law Interview Program in Chicago. In addition to these job fairs, in 2011 we also attended and interviewed at the Midwest Black Law Students Minority Recruitment Conference in Milwaukee, and expect to attend again in 2012.
Our 2011 class of summer associates was composed of 12 law students from Chicago, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Wayne State. The class had six men and six women. Three of the students were 1L’s; nine were 2L’s. Two of the students are persons of color.
We have hired seven 2L students for the summer of 2012, drawn from Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Wayne State. We will also host four 1L students from Michigan, Iowa and Wake Forest. The summer class is composed of five men and six women, and includes three persons of color.
The six new associates who will be starting in September of 2012 were drawn from four law schools: Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Wayne State. Two of the students are male; four are female. One is a person of color.
